WILCOX COUNTY COMMISSION

Commissioner Powell calls Yellow Bluff, Alabama home. He has been a resident of that area for many years.  He is the son of Rev. Willie Powell and the late Commissioner Lena Mahan Powell.

In 2004, Mr. Powell was appointed by Governor Don Seigleman to fulfill the term of his mother, who was gravely ill at the time. He completed that term and in doing so gained the respect of the people of District 5 as well as the people of Wilcox County. He went on to win re-election to the Wilcox County Commission in 2004 and again in 2008.  Mr. Powell is known for his generous spirit and willingness to help those in need.

Mr. Powell is the President of The Ricky Powell Trucking Company and serves as Vice-President of Christian Memorial Funeral Homes, LLC.
